The tale of Boris the cat

I am looking after the neighbours cats while they are away and when I went to bring them in there was no sign of Boris the tabby.

I called and called and even got the emergency tuna bribe out of the cellar. Still no Boris.

After we had our meal I had another look. I was beginning to get worried as it had started to rain, with thunder and lightning.

Another hour passed and I was out again, scouring the neighbourhood for bloody Boris.

Dad shouted from our house that they had found the cat. He had been hiding under Mum and Dads' bed and when Mum went down to do some packing, he had come racing out, scaring the beejeezus out of Mum.

:-)))

I then had to search our house before finally finding him in Catriona's wardrobe. The tuna was finally put to good use to entice him out. I juggled the cat (and he is twice the size of Daphne) the tuna and the house key while trying to put the alarm off.

He can bloody well stay inside tomorrow

Shopping Trips and Magic Tricks

We had a good day today, MrT and I went into town and left the kids with Granny and Grandad. They played games and learnt some magic tricks. When we got home we were treated to a magic show. Actually when I say we were treated, we had to pay. They made tickets and we came into the living room to be greeted by DS asking for money for the show. I gave him CHF 5 and only got 20ct change. MrT got 10ct change out of CHF 2.

Then they did magic tricks and sang songs. On of the tricks was that Grandad and DD held a blanket, DS stood behind it. When they raised the blanket up to hide DS then lowered it again, DS had magically disappeared. Only the very eagle eyed would have spotted him crawling to the door and hiding in the hall.

Well, actually that is not strictly true, since he started crawling before they had even raised the blanket up to hide him.

I got some great bargains in town, a jumper reduced from 49chf to 19chf and a jacket reduced from 120chf to 30chf. MrT joked that parking our car was almost as expensive as my new jacket

Getting back into the blogging swing of things

I have neglected this blog recently as I have been distracted by Facebook, holidays, weddings and life in general but will endevour to post more frequently.

We recently returned from Scotland where we helped my brother celebrate his wedding. It was a great day and everything went well (even with the mishaps that make a wedding a wedding). MrT had to get a new kilt brought out from the kilt hire shop as his buckle burst as he put it on. He was still in time to stand up beside my brother, as his best man.

The best man speech that he had agonised over was thankfully well received. The meal and dancing that followed was enjoyed by all. The children, of which there were many, danced and played until they fell asleep. Our two managed to stay awake until 11pm, a great feat for them as they normally go to bed at 8pm.

On the plane to Scotland

I am on my way to Edinburgh for SIL-to-be's Henny Night. Tonight we will get down and dirty at the Boyzone concert in Glasgow.

It is a bit strange, travelling without the DC. I have time to look around me and notice things.

Like the couple ahead of me in the queue to get on the plane. Snazzy red trousers, Bavarian jacket and golf gloves. Or are they driving gloves? You know the thing I mean, beige gloves made of leather and mesh material with the Velcro fastening on back of the hand.

The weirdest thing was that his wife was wearing a matching pair of gloves.

He is sitting on the opposite side of the ailse and has just taken a wet wipe out if his pocket to clean his hands after eating his sandwich. His red socks match his red trousers and the red piping on his blazer. Very dapper.

I have consumed my sandwich (wirhout wet wipe usage) and a cup of tea. I did think about a glass of wine but will wait until mum and I get to Glasgow for that.

Got to get some frilly knickers to throw at Ronan. D'you think John Lewis stock something suitable?
