Present ideas for Mothers Day

I know, we still have time, but if you want to be organised and order online you really need to do so this week.

Shopping in Geneva is no great shakes, unless you are looking for Gucci, Armani or Versace. For normal everyday gifts, it is rather more difficult.

Which is why I do most of my gift shopping online and have it sent directly to the UK recipient.

Here are some of my favourite online shops.

I blogged about jewellery from Mrs Gibson last year, and still love to wear the earrings and bracelets that I bought.

This sterling silver bracelet is adorned with polished Italian stones that Mrs Gibson bought on holiday on Lake Garda and costs £ 60. There is something special about buying from someone who sources her material, designs and makes the jewellery, rather than a faceless corporation.

If your budget won't stretch to £60, check out the button bracelets, made with a mixture of modern and antique French buttons, in rainbow colours.

My favourite jewellery designer at the moment is Monica Vinader. I have the Candy stacking rings pictured right, from £75. The Medina ring pictured  left can be stacked with the Candy rings and costs from £130. The jewellery is available in silver or gold-plated and set with various semi-precious stones.

This Fiji friendship bracelet is pretty, and you can order them in several different "meanings" from Luck to Prosperity, Health to Courage, from £95.

Or go for a traditional link bracelet such as the Capture from £240. Also available in silver.

These handbags are still quite unknown in UK, but becoming very popular in Germany and Switzerland. And no wonder. They are made with the most incredibly buttersoft leather, great designs and very well made. You can order them through Amazon.de or contact Liebeskind Berlin to find local retailers. I spotted their purses in our local department store last week, and will be going in for a better look soon.

I compared the quality of these bags with ones from companies such as Mulberry when I was in Zurich recently, and was very impressed. If I had not known, I would have guessed that the Liebeskind bags were the sinfully expensive ones.

They are available at around €200 - 300 and I think that is a great price for these bags. The purses are around €60 to €70.

  1. Loving all the stuff, especially the candy stack rings. However am I right that this is one big hint for Mother's Day for Mr Lindt to take note of?!?

  4. Hi Helen, thanks for your comment and apologies for not replying.

I haven't visited the Lindt factory shop, too much temptation for me. We almost went to the museum in Zurich but ran out of time sadly.

  5. Your Ideas are excellent but I think It might be so much Costly. Everyone can't afford that but I must say that Ornaments are great Idea if some on can afford it then we should give it to our sweet Mother.Though we can express our Feeling by many ways.

True, most of the gift ideas are more expensive, I was really do a blog post about nice items that I like.

The button bracelets are lovely though, and not costly.

And of course the best Mothers' Day gifts are homemade by the children.
