I have joined British Mummy Bloggers. << Does that link take you to my page? I am still not quite clear what I am doing here.
I admit that I was a bit wary of joining BMB, although I could see the benefits. My blog is not all about babies and nappies, I actually don't post a lot about my children. From looking at the website I could see that not all posts are about being a parent and there are some really fascinating blogs on here. And I am a blogger and a mummy - or Mama as my children call me, not because I am a ponce, but because they were born in Germany.
The advantages are clear. Connecting to other bloggers means more readers. I can witter on about how my blog is for me, and a way of expressing myself but at the end of the day, blogging is more fun if someone is reading. If it were all for me, then I would not publish a blog. I love it when someone comments on my blog, even if they disagree with me. Obviously I would prefer you to tell me that I am absolutely right, but if you have a different opinion, I want to hear it.
It also gives me the opportunity to read more blogs. I love blogs. It is like sitting in a corner of a stranger's front room, catching a glimpse of their life. Particularly blogs about those living in a different country, how they deal with cultural conflicts, homesickness, bringing up their children on foreign soil. Blogs from those back in the UK keep me connected to my homeland, which becomes more important to me the longer I live abroad.
So, hello to all the MummyBloggers. I am sure that there is a lot to learn, and am eager to do so.
